2012-04-23 NORDIC WATER 2012 is all about hydrology in its widest sense. The main theme will focus on catchment restoration and water protection. Several sub-themes relevant for northern water research will also be included as sub-themes. The conference will include oral and poster presentations and special workshops.
The conference aims to promote exchanges of experiences from hydrological research and practice. As a hydrology gathering, the main goal is to identify, establish and strengthen collaborations, leading to real partnerships between researchers, decision-makers and managers of water resources.

Second IWRM-Net call for research proposals
2009-07-30 A consortium of nine IWRM-Net research funders has launched the Second IWRM-Net call for research proposals. IWRM-net provides a network for not only funders but also scientists and policy makers who are interested in the process of developing knowledge and improving research on water. The 2nd call is directed mainly towards water researchers in France, Germany, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Italy (and NL and SE under specific regulations). There is the opportunity for other countries to participate in project consortiums as well given that they have their own funding stream. Topics of the call are climate change impacts and adaptation for IWRM, water scarcity and droughts and economics for IWRM: social and environmental evaluation for decision making and Incentive measures to regulate uses.

2008-11-26 The EurAqua conference "How can climate change be incorporated in river basin management plans under the WFD?", held in Oslo 23-24 October 2008, concluded the following statement:

EurAqua strongly recommends that instruments for policy support are reintroduced in FP7 to address issues associated with policy development or implementation of European legislation, such as the Water Framework Directive.

Policy and Technical Brief Series on IWRM from EC-project STRIVER
2008-11-26 On 17 November, 2008, the EC-funded FP6-project STRIVER launched it Series of Policy and Technical Briefs. The intention is to communicate the results from the project in an easy non-technical fashion with a clear management and policy impact message. The two series summarize results from the project so far, and are aimed at an applied research audience, water managers, decision takers and policy makers. 11 Policy Briefs and 6 Technical Briefs are part in this first launch.
