Compound channel flume - LNEC (PT)

This channel was originally built in the 1960’s with the purpose of conducting studies with free surface flows, with or without mobile bed. Presently, is being used for compound channel flows studies. The flume is a 10 m long and 2 m wide, with a bottom longitudinal slope of 0.0011 m/m. Separated inlets for the main channel and for the floodplains were installed.

Delta Flume  – Deltares (NL)

From 2015, on our campus in Delft, we have a unique test facility where it is possible to test at full scale the effect of extreme waves on dikes, dunes or breakwaters. There is considerable global demand for the realistic testing of hydraulic structures in particular situations. The Delta Flume is a versatile, indispensable facility that can be used for numerous projects.

Fishway Tilting Flume - LNEC (PT)

This large scale pool-type fishway flume allows performing tests with real specimen to study fish behavior in the transposition of river hydraulic structures, like weirs and small dams. The facility is 10 m long, 1.0 m wide and 1.2 m high and has an adjustable slope

Flow Channel - FCE (HR)

The flow channel is 15m long and 1 m wide with a normal water depth of 1 m. The side walls are made of glass to provide optical access.

Inclinable Flow Channel- FCE (HR)

Designed for demonstration of the general features of open channel flow. The channel operates in a closed water circuit. Water from the supply tank is pumped to the channel inlet through a precision control valve. From the outlet the water drops into a gravimetric measuring tank and then returns to the supply tank.

Scheldt Flume  – Deltares (NL)

The Scheldt Flume is a state-of-the art wave flume with a total length of 110 m. The flume has wave generators at both sides, which enables one to use for wave generation and one for wave dissipation. The flume can also be split into two flumes such that 2 projects can be performed simultaneously in the two flumes, each being 55 m long. At one side of the flume a pumping system is installed.

Sediment Transport Channel - FCE (HR)

Designed to demonstrate basic principle of sediment transport in water. In addition, experiments have been suggested that will demonstrate local scour at channel obstructions such as bridge piers, and the secondary flow in channel beds - FCE (HR)

Water-soil flume  – Deltares (NL)

The water-soil flume comprises a large concrete research-flume and a motorised carriage, travelling on top of the flume, consisting of a multipurpose dredging installation complete with data-acquisition and data-processing systems.

Waterway model – T. G. Masaryk (CZ)

The hydraulic model in scale 1 : 70 is used to optimise operation of different constructions on waterway, to examine options the possibilities for cleaning the waterway during the beginning of ice phenomena and putting it into operation in the early thaw period. Studies also consider the issues of bio-corridors.

Wave Channel - FCE (HR)

The generator is conceived as “piston type”, allowing the simulation of spectral and monochromatic waves. Wave energy dissipater is fixed at the opposite end of 16m long and 1 m wide wave channel with a normal water depth of 1 m. The electro-hydraulic servo-actuated wave generator is able to generate waves up to 0,8 m high. The side walls are made of plywood and glass to provide optical access. Different configurations of beaches and manmade construction can be installed.
